Sir Dr. M.S. Gosavi has set a World Record of being the youngest Principal (Age-23 years) with longest tenure (37years). Appointed Principal of a full-fledged Principle B.Y.K. Commerce, Nashik (University of Pune) in 1958 and he crated a history by getting a permanent affiliation of University of Pune in 1963, which also is a record by itself. The College became internationally known, because of its M.B.A. degree programme introduced in 1968, restructuring / vocationalization at Degree programme introduced since 1983 and First college in India to introduce a B.Com degree with Computer Applications specialization(1983).
Sir Dr. M.S. Gosavi, an outstanding Management Scientist, Director, MSG Foundation Mumbai, Director, J.D.C. Bytco Institute of Management Studies and Research, Nashik, has First class First in B.Com and M.Com. of the University of Pune, B.A. LL.B., Sahityacharya and has the first Ph.D. in Business Administration in India. In 1960,he became a life member of Gokhale Education Society and was elected as the Secretary in 1973, a position he has been holding for last 38 years. As a Secretary Sir Dr. M.S. Gosavi has played an inspiring leader's role in helping Gokhale Education Society promote world class schools, colleges and research centres in Maharashtra having enrollment of 1,00,000 students and 3,000 teaching and support staff.
Sir Dr. M.S. Gosavi has always preferred to walk on untrodden paths. He therefore becomes 'pioneer' of many things in the field of commerce and management. He has always emphasized that human capital can become the leading edge for any organization. In this context, Sir initiated M.B.A. programme in B.Y.K. College of Commerce, Nashik, 1968 to produce world-class performers and leaders in industry and trade. The very idea of full time professional course was appreciated academically and was welcomed by industry and trade. This trend setting step by Sir Dr. M.S. Gosavi paved the way for other variety of programmes like DBM, DCM, MCM, MPM etc. to cater the industrial needs. Sir Dr. M. S. Gosavi thus developed strong linkages between educational institutes and industrial organizationas. In a career stretching over four decades, Sir Dr. M.S. Gosavi held many eminent positions including that of Dean of Commerce Faculty (1964-66), President, Indian Commerce Association, member AICTE-etc.
